My first show (of only 12-15) was Watkins Glen. Saw a bunch in the late 70's and moved to Portland, ME on 9/15/82. Two days later my friend from CT, Peter Cohen and Alison got me a ticket and we went. I have his tape (listened in the parking lot after....those were the days!!) Amazing show, Jerry's playing all night and especially on Deal is so sweet. I love the Dead, I love Portland, and am so happy to had the privilege to be there.

Nice to see this one back on the archive. This is my first review, but I just had to because this was my best show, and I highly recommend it. How can you go wrong with a cookin' Bertha opener finished with an incredible Dew > Sugar ending - CLASSIC!! The Morning Dew is a little shorter, but check out the Jerry solo - blistering!! They always played great up here for us Maine folks, and I think this one was the best of the bunch. I'd love for David Lemieux to issue this as a "Maine Road Trips". Also check a darkly foreboding Estimated - signs of things to come "you don't know what I know." Brent did not sing this night, but Jerry and Bobby pulled their A game. Jerry's solos from start to end are first class. Please check this one out. Quality is okay.
